Sixty-five miles northwest of Knoxville, Tennessee, the town of Jellico teems with small town friendliness, picturesque landscapes and ever changing beauty. Head for nearby Cove Lake State Park, 667 acres of rolling land where you can camp, view more than 400 geese or even visit the raised earthen remnants of the ancient Mound Builders that once inhabited this area. At Indian Mountain State Park you can feed the ducks in the pond, ride paddle boats, hike and witness a great example of how old strip coal mines can be successfully reclaimed. Hike the Cumberland Trail, which winds through 11 Tennessee counties on the eastern escarpment of the Cumberland Plateau, or visit the Royal Blue Wildlife Management Area with acres upon acres of beautiful scenery.
