If you travel to Paris around April, expect to visit the Worlds Biggest Fish Fry, where tradition is deep-fried. More than five tons of catfish serve thousands of visitors at this wildly popular fish fry. Paris, like its French counterpart, offers a historic district, fine wines and, yes, the Eiffel Tower.

Paris Winery is designed with Venetian-style architecture and produces 26 varieties of wine. Tours and tastings occur daily. Make a toast with the Paris Winery Spumante, creating an exciting bubbly sensation on the palate. Enjoy an evening snuggled up by a roaring fire with the Ruby Reds chocolaty texture and rich black cherry and raspberry tones.

World-famous Clifty Farms scrumptious products include country hams, honey-glazed hams, cured bacon, smoked sausage, smoked turkey, pork barbecue and baby back ribs.

Shop among antiques, jewelry, clothing and gift shops in Paris. Explore one of the largest antique malls in the country, Market Street Antique Mall, with more than 150 dealers. Feast in a variety of restaurants from country cooking to Asian and Italian. Join a myriad of events held on the courthouse lawn such as concerts, festivals, parties and parades.  Paris is rich in Civil War history. The Battle of Paris lasted only 15 minutes but left many Confederates dead and forced a Union retreat.

If the great outdoors catches your fancy, enjoy Paris Landing State Park. Soak up sun along the western shore of Kentucky Lake while you take advantage of great golfing, boating, swimming, skiing, camping and fishing. Abundant wildlife in the park includes deer, turkey, fox, coyote as well as eagles in the winter months.
