Affair at Travisville Educational Bivouac

Learn about the first Civil War military action in Tennessee, with school programs and battle reenactments, at Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park.

History comes alive with the reenactment of the Affair at Travisville, the first military engagement of the Civil War in Tennessee. The educational bivouac will be held at nearby Cordell Hull Birthplace State Historic Park. The school program begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 16. On Saturday, May 17, camps open to the public with officer's call at 10 a.m. The battle reenactment and cannon firing begin at 3 p.m. On Sunday, camps open at 9 a.m., followed by church on site and the battle reenactment at 2 p.m.
