The 39th annual Town & Country Tour of Homes will take place 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 7-8 in various places around Franklin.

In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Franklin, the tour will feature homes and buildings standing on that fateful day, and place a special emphasis on the Civil War tales surrounding the respective property.

Tour destinations include the ca. 1832 Harris-McEwen House, The 1898 Roberts-Moore House, The 1816 Eaton House, the ca. 1858 Old Williamson County Courthouse, the 1805 Saunders-Marshall-Wright Gardens, the two-story, ca. 1808 Landmark Booksellers, the ca. 1823-1826 Masonic Lodge-Hiram Lodge #7, the Belle House, the ca. 1810-1826 Harrison House, the Rest Haven Cemetery, and the ca. 1854 Laurel Hill home.

“All but two of our featured properties witnessed what happened on November 30, 1864, and have either been exceptionally preserved or rehabilitated,” said Kristy Williams, Tour of Homes coordinator. “People lived or worked in each of those buildings, and all have stories to tell about the Battle of Franklin and its aftermath.”

As a new feature, the event will include costumed re-enactors at many of the sites who will relay stories of the Battle of Franklin as it relates to the respective homes or businesses from the perspectives of the people in the midst of the fray.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
