The Battle of Franklin Trust will offer comprehensive walking tours of the Franklin battlefield 11 a.m. every Tuesday through Friday starting May 20, originating from The Carter House. Tours will last approximately 90 minutes.

This new tour will take guests to seven different locations on the battlefield. Tour guides will focus on many elements of The Battle of Franklin, including why it occurred, the arrival of Federal and Confederate armies, and the details of what became known as one of the greatest, single assaults of the Civil War.

“For decades, guests have come from around the world to experience the brief window we offer into the tragedy and pageantry of that day in 1864,” said Eric A. Jacobson, The Battle of Franklin trust chief executive officer.  “Many visitors are returning to Franklin to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the battle. We want to give them a deeper understanding of the events that took place and this is the ideal way to do that.”

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at The Carter House visitor center.
