Harvest Days take place at the Croft Home, the second oldest residence in Davidson County open to the public and the centerpiece of the Zoo’s Grassmere farm. Guests can try their hand at the pen-and-ink, paper doll and wood carding stations. Blacksmiths, weavers, woodcarvers and other 19th century artisans will demonstrate the era’s trades. Tours of the historic home will be conducted by costumed interpreters, and garden tours and demonstrations will be led by the Davidson County Master Gardeners. Other activities include a Civil War display, animal presentations and several musical groups performing each day.
