"Revisiting the Creek War of 1813" Symposium

The War of 1812 brought Tennessee into the national spotlight for its military and political prowess and catapulted General Andrew Jackson into the presidency. Three scholars on the Creek War will discuss the impact of the conflict on the region's people, including local troops and the Cherokee, some 600 of whom fought alongside General Andrew Jackson's army against the Creeks at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. Attendees receive free admission to Museum of East Tennessee History and its current War of 1812 exhibit, plus discounted admission to paticipating local historical sites.
