Music on Main Street – Linden, TN – Saturday, August 31 - FREE SHOW!! LAST MUSIC ON MAIN STREET CONCERT FOR 2013, TO FEATURE OVER THREE HOURS OF GREAT MUSIC as SEVEN ENTERTAINERS TO DELIVER ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND LINDEN FINALE’ This Saturday, August 31, at 7:30 PM, Perry County’s Music on Main Street, will conclude for the Summer with a marathon parade of music to celebrate the long Labor Day weekend. Back by popular demand, veteran 80’s hit-maker Joe Sun, leads a cast of talented musicians and singers headed to the Perry County Courthouse Square this Saturday, for one last performance, in the ever-growing popular Summer concert series, which kicked off three months ago. Red-hot blues harmonica man ‘Chicago Charlie’ Fink and Chet Atkins-style guitarist John Richards are just two of the gifted musicians who will be featured at the free show on the Courthouse Square. Also on the bill are award-winning and national touring Folk/Americana duo Twangtown Paramours, plus cigar-box bluesman Little Johnny Kantreed, and folk singer Mike Dunbar. Rounding out the fun is singer/songwriter Jimbo Sales, who also is an exceptional acoustic guitarist. Local singing-favorite and long-time Perry County farmer McDonald Craig, has also been invited to sing a song or two. “This weekend, we have all this wonderful entertainment, and with it being a holiday weekend and all, we’ll go an extra hour late or more and have a whale of a good time,” declared Linden Mayor Jim Azbill. The free-admission, Music On Main Street concert series has alternated from week-to-week this Summer between Linden and Lobelville. Music on Main Street will have the first hour of this weekend’s concert, broadcast live on WNKX - 96.7 FM (KIX 96). In the event of rain or threat of bad weather this Saturday, the entire show will simply be moved to the just-freshly painted Mason’s Building, right there next to the courthouse. “This year has been a breakthrough year for our free music concerts,” Lobelville Mayor, Robby J. Moore had stated last week. “We’ve been proud with the level of talent, all Summer, and this weekend in Linden will be a great way to bring the whole family out, and share in the last music concert of 2013. You won’t find anyplace with this much good talent, on one night, this Labor Day weekend!” All of these summer-long, outdoor concerts are, and have been, free admission, and as always, patrons are urged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for optimum seating comfort. Cans of delicious creamed corn will also be given away at this last show for 2013. Food and drink concessions will be available from local vendors. The Music on Main Street Summer Saturday Nights Outdoor Concert Series and radio program is co-produced jointly by Linden, Lobelville, and Perry County and is sponsored by the Buffalo River Review.
