Sept. 21, 2:30 p.m. Pedal steel guitar legend Buddy Emmons, whose staggering, soulful technique set standards by which countless steel players measure themselves today, will be honored in this program of interviews and performances. Emmons's pioneering contributions as both a player and inventor have earned him the enduring respect and admiration of his peers. His sterling musicianship graces groundbreaking recordings by Ray Charles, Little Jimmy Dickens, Duane Eddy, Vince Gill, John Hartford, Gram Parsons, Ray Price, Linda Ronstadt, George Strait, Ernest Tubb, Faron Young, and countless others. Emmons is celebrated on a new CD, The Big E: Salute to Buddy Emmons. Hosted by Bill Lloyd, this program will include appearances by Duane Eddy, Dan Dugmore, Country Music Hall of Fame Member Pig Robbins, Big E producer Steve Fishell, and more.
