Tennessee Does Textiles
The Monroe Area Council for the Arts announces the 2007 Tennessee Does Textiles performance and invites participation from regional women’s groups. TDT, now in its fifth year, is the Southeast’s only wearable art, runway fashion show and performance art event. A unique art experience, the show includes many educational aspects in addition to the runway fashion show which features juried, one-of-a-kind hand made art clothing and accessories. The wearable art is modeled in the show by professional dancers and is made lovingly by some of the South’s best fiber artists. The theme for this year’s event is Traditions Transformed: From Sow’s Ear to Silk Purse.
