Hiwassee River Rail Adventure Train Excursions
Passengers will begin their adventure at the L & N Depot Museum in Etowah, Tenn. This is a 50-mile, approximately 3-hour, roundtrip train ride. The trains will travel alongside the Hiwassee River, providing breathtaking views of the Hiwassee River Gorge, mountains and forests. At the famous Hiwassee Loop the track actually passes over itself during a corkscrew climb up the mountain near Faner, Tenn. The Copperhill Special runs on select weekends all season. This extended, 90-mile, 6-hour roundtrip runs all the way into Copperhill, Tenn., with a layover for shopping and dining.
Excursions are now scheduled starting on April 7 and continuing through November 25.
