Cue the scary organ music and get ready for a month of fun at the Tennessee Aquarium. This year’s celebration focuses on the chilling aspects of the predator/prey relationships in the natural world.
At Penguins’ Rock for example, visitors can see gentoo and macaroni penguins popping out of the water while swimming at an amazingly high rate of speed. Why do they do that? Because in the wild they could be chased by something that’s more than 10 feet in length weighing close to 750 pounds.
From spine-tingling sharks and barracuda to spineless wonders like the infamous octopus and slimy jellyfish, the Tennessee Aquarium’s Thrills, Gills & Chills features frightening fish tales in October, but it’s all family-friendly, finny fun.
