Garden Tales 10:30 am & 11:00 am Join us for an exploration into the wide world of literature! Using songs, dance, and interactive reading, your favorite nature-themed books will spring to life in the Sigourney Cheek Literary Garden. Live Music: Piano in the Museum Drawing Room Steinway Piano Society of Nashville 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Steinway members provide pleasant piano music as you stroll through the art galleries and explore the beautiful historic mansion. Watch as master bamboo artist Mr. Ueno Masao creates a giant sculpture in the courtyard, try your hand at origami, create a cultural craft in the studios and take a guided tour of Shomu-En, our Japanese Garden. Saturday, March 29 Zoo on the Move 12:00 pm The Nashville Zoo is coming to Cheekwood! Don’t miss this rare opportunity to learn interesting and fun facts from expert animal educators and see our honorary animal guests as they venture to our grounds. You’ll be wild about this show! Saturday, April 5 Nashville Puppet Truck presents The Stonecutter 12:00 pm Based on a traditional Asian folktale and featuring Bunraku puppetry, this story teaches two life lessons: be happy with who you are and make your wishes carefully! Help us welcome back our favorite puppeteers from the Nashville Public Library & Wishing Chair Productions! Running time: 30 minutes Saturday, April 12 Nashville Ballet presents Ferdinand the Bull 12:00 pm Delight in the beloved tale of Ferdinand, who loves to smell the flowers instead of spending his time in the bullfighting ring. The music, choreography, and bright costumes of this performance, inspired by Pablo Picasso, will fit perfectly into your spring day at Cheekwood. Saturday, April 19 SPRING ART HOP *New Extended Hours* 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Special Event Pricing: Member Adults $5, Member Kids FREE Non-member adults $15; Seniors $12; Children 3-17 $8; Children 2 and under are FREE. Free passes are not valid for special events. Celebrate spring in style with egg hunts, crafts, performances, music and more at the 22nd annual Spring Art Hop. A favorite tradition in Nashville, this special event is packed full of activities and excitement for families and kids of all ages. We’ll be hiding over 20,000 eggs, so don’t forget to bring your basket! 12:00 pm: ‘Egg’cellent Magic Show 2:00 pm: ‘Egg’cellent Magic Show Our veteran magician is at it again with tricks and riddles to make everyone giggle. And be on the lookout for some of his furriest, big-eared friends! 10:00 am – 4:00 pm Musical Petting Zoo, Country Music Hall of Fame Country Music Hall of Fame is back, which is music to our ears! Stop by to look at, learn about and PLAY various instruments featured in country music, including guitars, banjos, fiddles and more. Instructors will be on-site to offer guidance – and applause! Saturday, April 26 Tennessee Craft Day We’re thrilled to present another great day of craft demonstrations in partnership with Tennessee Craft, formerly TACA. Watch as local artists exhibit their mastered skills before your eyes, explain their processes, and answer questions from art lovers of all ages.
