Swingfest
Beginning at 5:30 p.m., Swingfest 2008, will feature performances by some of Chattanooga’s largest swing orchestras. These bands consist of accomplished local professional musicians, music teachers and band directors, and feature well known performers.
Everyone is invited to bring a blanket and enjoy the cross section of traditional and contemporary arrangements of jazz and swing, including the popular music of Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Glen Miller. A wooden dance floor will be set up in front of the stage to encourage every generation of attendee to demonstrate their love of swing dancing.
A select number of food and drink vendors will be on site for the convenience and comfort of attendees.
Park at Unum lots at corner of 3rd and Cherry Streets and walk across the Walnut Street Bridge.
