Boomsday 2014 will take place Saturday, August 30th along Neyland Drive at Volunteer Landing. Viewing on Neyland Drive is free. Entertainment starts at 3:00. Fireworks start at 9:00. The Rodney Atkins Boomsday After Party will begin at 10:00pm inside Thompson Boling Arena. Admission to the After Party is $20. The fireworks will be televised locally on WBIR-TV. A private, ticketed Vol for Life event will take place at Volunteer Landing hosted by Calhoun’s! Tickets include the opportunity to mingle with a handful of former Vol greats, including Jamal Lewis, Tony Robinson, Jayson Swain and Antone Davis. Meet and greet will be from 4:30-6:30 pm, have a delicious BBQ dinner, party with DJ ‘Sterl the Pearl’, and stay for fireworks in this ultra-premium viewing area. A portion of the ticket price will be donated to Making Strides and the American Cancer Society. East Tennessee native Rodney Atkins will headline the Bomsday After Party at Thompson Boling Arena at 10:00pm. Atkins has an impressive track record with hitting on sentiments that strike a chord with the country listener: he's had six number one hits from his first three albums, from "Watching You" and "These Are My People" to his most recent smashes, "Take A Back Road," and "Farmer's Daughter."
