Judith Black has been a creator and teller of tales for over 30 years. Retellings of history from new perspectives, familial dysfunction and the questionable joys of aging are all fodder for her tales. Her background in theater, early childhood development, political activism, and the wryly-observed life inform her work. Black has been featured on stages around the world, including the Montreal Comedy Festival, the Smithsonian Institution, the Art Museum of Cape Town and NPR. She is a recipient of the NSN ORACLE Circle of Excellence award. “Black has culled the minefields of childhood and elevated them through her storytelling to a level of universal experience that is not only painful and poignant, but gut-wrenchingly hilarious.” – The Boston Globe
