Constant experimenters, consistently crossing genres: folkie ballads, noisey feedback-filled squalls, garagey grunge, funk, et al. They may even do the occasional bizarre oldie, but this trio has a buoyancy that makes it feel like a tossed-off piece of brilliance. Their newest record Popular Songs hits stores on September 8. But you can get an early listen starting August 4 through Matador's site along with some other swell stuff. Bottom line - these guys are a blast. Get your tickets early 'cause this one is liable to fill up in a Hoboken minute.
