Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, known to the world as the Indigo Girls, have been releasing fiery folk rock albums for a goodly while now. There are times in many established groups' careers when being in the creative zone is replaced by staying in the comfort zone. Instead of letting their collective creativity atrophy, Ray and Saliers have done exactly the opposite with Poseidon and the Bitter Bug their first fully independent release since Strange Fire. For some, the new album may feel reminiscent of the early Athens, GA days - the buoyant melodies and harmony work are there, as always, and the songwriting duties are once again evenly split between both artists. Harmony, again. This is sure to be a great show.
