Rockwood Christmas Tour of Homes
Historic homes will be decorated and on display with caroling, holiday food and historic character portrayals. Included in 2009's Tour: Battle of the Cannons (Saturday at 3:30), a Festival of Trees, a History Play, and the home of Stephen Brown, creator and designer of Glitterville, the wondrously wacky and whimsical world where ‘Everyday is a Holiday.' Stephen will also have a holiday sale of his collection. 100 Civil War reenactors will be participating with firearms, artillery pieces, horses, and other equipment carried by soldiers of the time.
Advance purchase of tickets are recommended. Tickets are $12 per person in advance, $15 per person the day of the event. While here be sure and spend some time in historic downtown Rockwood where you will find an antique mall, old-fashioned soda fountain, restaurants, and a bluegrass music show on Friday night. And at the end of town visit the newly opened Fran's Tennessee Christmas where you will find gorgeous decorations to deck your own halls!
