Nashville Lawn & Garden Show
Produced by the Horticultural Association of Tennessee, the Nashville Lawn & Garden Show is one of the largest and most popular gardening events in the South, attracting over 22,000 paid attendees annually. The 2010 Show has been named a Top 20 Event for winter 2010 by the South East Tourism Society of the USA. The centerpiece of the show is a naturalized presentation of more than 20 distinctive live gardens created by professional landscape designers from throughout middle Tennessee who compete for awards. Most of the gardens include water features, ranging from small fountains to large waterfalls, and elaborate structures such as rock walls, terraces, pergolas and gazebos as well as thousands of spring flowers and plants. A series of 20 or more free lectures is presented by expert horticulturists and garden designers throughout the four-day show. Additional free presentations and workshops are offered by the Davidson County Master Gardeners. The show also includes 250 exhibit booths of plants, horticultural products, services and equipment for show and sale; in 2009, vendors from 12 states participated in the event. The show's spectacular floral design gallery features the work of more than 25 of the best designers in the mid-south region. All events and activities are held indoors at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds. There is plenty of free parking.
