Murfreesboro, Rutherford County Inc. holds an annual JazzFest on our historic downtown square, featuring outstanding jazz from local and regional musicians. Main Street's JazzFest is more than just a series of concerts, it's an event! It's a place to people-watch, eat, drink, shop, mingle, relax, soak in the rays, and of course, hear some of the best contemporary live jazz. Admission to JazzFest is free, and all are welcome.
And, don't worry about getting hungry. During JazzFest, the historic public square in downtown Murfreesboro will reverberate with the sounds of horns and drums but also with the aroma of polish sausage, roasted corn, funnel cake and other tasty treats. You’ll also find chocolate strawberries, jerk chick wings and fiesta nachos, fried catfish and sausage dogs. In addition to professional food vendors, many local nonprofit organizations will be set up to sell ice cream, snow cones, cotton candy and other fare. Of course, all of our wonderful downtown restaurants will be open for business.
