Knoxville Symphony Orchestra Opening Night Gala

Kick off the season at our Gala Concert with the acclaimed Emanuel Ax performing Beethoven's second Piano Concerto - an early work that shows the composer's impressive abilities. Jennifer Higdon, a Maryville native, composed her evocative blue cathedral - "blue like the sky, where all the possibilities soar" - as a memorial for her brother, Andrew Blue. Grahms' dramatic First Symphony, whose journey from stormy opening to triumphant ending brings this festive evening to a thrilling climax.
