PERRY COUNTY’S MUSIC ON MAIN STREET IS ON FOR AUGUST 3rd (7:30 PM) - w/ CORVETTE car show (@ 4:00 PM)! Perry County’s Music on Main Street, the all-Summer, and every-Saturday-night concert series, is back again AND UNDERWAY - for its fourth year, alternating from week-to-week again, between Linden and Lobelville. This Saturday (Aug. 3rd) there will be a free Chevy Corvette car show on the Perry County Courthouse Square at 4:00 PM, and then at 7:30 PM, up-and-coming, rocking-country singer Doug McCormick and his hot band will have the entire night to themselves to entertain. Doug has shared the stage with a number of nationally known acts including Luke Bryan, David Nail, Colt Ford, Keith Anderson, Charlie Daniels and Rhett Akin. Through relentless touring (currently playing upwards of 175 shows each year across the Southeast and beyond), Doug has built a loyal, grassroots following that is continuing to expand with each performance. In the spring of 2011, Doug independently released his sophomore album, The Last Country Song. The first single from the project, “Watch Your Mouth”, received significant airplay on both the XM satellite network and FM broadcast radio formats, and held the top position on XM57’s “Top 20 Countdown” for three consecutive weeks. While paying his dues at several Music City hotspots, Doug started to turn heads within the industry. Attracted by his sincere, energetic approach to entertaining a live audience, The Wildhorse Saloon, one of Nashville’s most prestigious live music venues, offered Doug a regular spot in their 2013 talent lineup rotation. After working diligently on his own and writing a number of the songs regularly heard in his live set, Doug signed his first publishing deal with Nashville’s BMG / Chrysalis as an artist/writer this past January. This Saturday’s Music on Main Street concert featuring Doug, is free admission, as are all of the Summer-long shows alternating between Linden and Lobelville. The free concerts will conclude on the Saturday night of Labor Day weekend, August 31. Patrons are asked to bring blankets or lawn chairs for optimum seating comfort. This Saturday’s Music on Main Street outdoor concert is “rain or shine”, as are all of the shows. In the event of any threatening Summer weather in Linden, the concert will be moved indoors to the Mason’ Building, right there on the Perry County Courthouse Square. Every Perry County Music on Main Street show is shared on the airwaves with several middle Tennessee counties, via a live radio broadcast each week of the concert’s first hour, on Centerville’s WNKX - FM, KIX 96. The Music on Main Street Summer Saturday Nights Concert Series is sponsored by Buffalo River Review and co-produced jointly by Linden, Lobelville and Perry County.
