Sometimes you just need to kick back with a cold brew and watch the game. Sample some Tennessee-brewed craft beers, make some new friends at a local sports bar.
If it's microbreweries you're looking for, Tennessee has some of the best. Start out in Chattanooga's riverfront entertainment district, where you'll find the Big River Grille and Brewing Works, which has now expanded with a second Chattanooga location and a Nashville spot. At all three, you'll find award-winning ales and lagers in addition to innovative cuisine. For a sports-themed spot to relax, try the Chattanooga Billiard Club in an historic downtown building, a great place for lunch as well as late-night gathering.
In Knoxville, meet up with the Vol fans at Old College Inn on the UT Strip or head downtown to the Downtown Grill & Brewery for craft brewed beers and tasty food, either inside the restaurant or on the street-front patio. All Calhoun's locations offer top-notch micro-brewed beers, from the riverfront location, at Bearden Hill, and all the way to the marina location on Fort Loudon Lake.
Relax at Depot Street Brewing in Jonesborough, Tennessee's oldest town. In the Tri-Cities, stop by Smoky Bones Bar & Fire Grill in Johnson City. Or head to middle Tennessee, for a stop at the Black Horse Pub & Brewery in Clarksville. Nashville's Yazoo Brewing Company has tours and a tasting room where you can try their smooth, drinkable beers in a variety of flavors.
In Memphis, Naked Lion Brewing is a must-stop, as are Boscos Squared on Madison and Ghost River Brewing on South Main.
