The Board of Directors of the Bird Dog Foundation (umbrella organization which operates the National Bird Dog Museum & Field Trial Hall of Fame) recently ratified Tonya Brotherton of nearby Hickory Valley, TN to serve as executive director. Before moving into the top slot, Tonya had previously been employed by the foundation as gift shop manager and secretary.  Originally from Tuscumbia, Alabama, Tonya has lived and worked near the famous bird dog mecca, the Ames Plantation, for more than 30 years.  She and her husband Rex express a fondness for horses and also own sporting dogs. Tonya said, “I love sporting dog folks and look forward to meeting many new friends in my new job.  This is an exciting opportunity for me; there is such a rich tradition here.”
