Largest Exhibition of Elvis Presley Fan Art Debuted at West Tennessee Regional Art Center

Bill Hickerson, curator,  and Barbara Hearn Smith at the WTRAC.Bill Hickerson, curator, and Barbara Hearn Smith at the WTRAC.As part of the 75th anniversary of the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival, the West Tennessee Regional Art Center (WTRAC) is offering a unique exhibition celebrating Elvis Presley entitled “Impressions of Elvis: Portraits by Fans of Elvis Presley.”  In collaboration with Elvis Presley Enterprises’ Graceland Archives Department, WTRAC has compiled this unique Elvis fan-created art display, the largest ever of its kind. Since Elvis’ emersion in 1954, fans from around the world have created sculpture, paintings, photography, and more in homage to and inspired by him. This exhibit features some of the most unique and creative pieces collected by the Graceland Archives.  The exhibit opened Sunday, May 6, 2012, with a public reception and runs through July 13, 2012.
