Providence House to Celebrate Grand Opening

Providence House Grand OpeningProvidence House Grand Opening Officials with Providence House hosted a Grand Opening celebration at Casey Jones Village.  Tourism Commissioner Susan Whitaker and other officials along with Clark Shaw led the program. A ribbon cutting with the Jackson Chamber Red Coat Ambassadors, tours of the home and musical entertainment were highlights of the event.  The historic home was built in Trenton, Tennessee in 1837 but in 2010 was scheduled to be torn down.  Instead, Old Country Store CEO Clark Shaw purchased the home and moved it to the Village, renaming the Neil House the Providence House. The completely restored Antebellum home opened in May of 2012 to serve as a special events venue and living history site almost 150 years after the Battle of Trenton.
