Tennessee's many beautiful historic theatres—many of them recently refurbished—function as spectacular venues no matter what the occasion. Whether it is a play at Tennessee's state theatre, the ornate and fabulous Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville, a concert at Memphis's historic 1928 Orpheum Theatre or a show at Nashville's legendary Ryman Auditorium, the venue alone will no doubt make the occasion feel magical. Sergeant Alvin C. York State Historic Park
Alvin York, one of the nation’s most decorated war heroes, became the public face of the Congressional Medal of Honor after capturing 35 German machine guns and 132 prisoners in the Argonne Forest in 1918.
