Located in Lynchburg, Tennessee, Jack Daniel Distillery is the oldest registered distillery in the nation. Although much tasting of whiskey won’t happen (the distillery is located in a dry county), there’s plenty of scrumptious restaurants around to satisfy your growling stomach. Pay a visit to Miss Mary Bobo’s Boarding House for a taste of Jack Daniel’s favorite foods.
Your trip is not complete without a sip of Tennessee wine. During the late 1800s, Tennessee flourished with vineyards, but after Prohibition in 1919, the grape crops and wine productions dwindled. Since the last quarter of the 20th century and the inception of the Tennessee Viticultural and Oenological Society in 1973, grape growing and winemaking have recovered greatly. Although Tennessee has wineries throughout it, finish your taste of Tennessee tour at two wineries located near Lynchburg, Beans Creek Winery and Tri-Star Vineyards and Winery.
