Jeff Slye oversees the strategy and implementation of Kimpton Hotels and Restaurant's environmental program, EarthCare. Through EarthCare, Mr. Slye has successfully implemented environmental standards to Kimpton's more than 80 hotels and restaurants covering over 15 markets across the United States and Canada. EarthCare is now recognized as one of the leading environmental programs within the hospitality industry. Mr. Slye engages all levels of management and employees to "champion" and take ownership of the program. This field based ownership allows for active input on EarthCare products and services, which ensures actions taken are viable operationally and financially as well as meet customer quality expectations. Mr. Slye brings a business background and emphasis to the program, so in addition to reducing Kimpton's impact on the environment, the program also translates into bottom line cost savings and top line revenue opportunities. From EarthCare's success, the National Restaurant Association (NRA) requested Kimpton's assistance on their environmental initiative and Mr. Slye acted as a strategic advisor for the NRA's project. This project is now facilitating the adoption of environmentally friendly products and practices to the entire restaurant industry. Mr. Slye is on the Editorial Board for Sustainability of HotelExecutive.com and an Advisory Board member for Sustainable Life Media.
