Principal & Creative Director, Designsensory
As co-founder, lead designer and creative director for Designsensory, Joseph oversees teams that deliver award-winning, conceptual and compelling brand, interactive and visual communication to hundreds of clients ranging from local and regional businesses to multi-national organizations. Notable clients include The State of Tennessee, Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corporation, MTS Corporation, Goody's Family Clothing, Varsity Athletics and AC Entertainment.
His design work has earned recognition from the American Advertising Federation, the American Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences and has been featured in Print Magazine Regional Annuals, Dynamic Graphics magazine and Logo Lounge 2. His interactive design work has been featured on several online interactive design lists including Stylegala, CSS Import, Macromedia and Most Inspired.
He is a regular guest speaker at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and lectures on Technical Communication, Visual Culture and Visual Rhetoric. Joseph is an active member of AIGA, the professional association for design, Art Directors Club of New York (ADC), the American Marketing Association, and the Design Management Institute (DMI).
Joseph believes in the power of innovative, unconventional and entrepreneurial creative thinking and is passionate about bringing teams of creative people together to solve micro and macro-scale social problems. To that end, he works to harness smart, disruptive design in support of local and global philanthropic change.
Originally born in Knoxville, TN, he moved to Silicon Valley with his family where he spent most of his early childhood and teenage life. Upon his return to Knoxville, he continued to develop his talents and interests in entrepreneurship, marketing and design and started his first business when he was 15 years old. Joseph holds a BA in Psychology from The University of Tennessee.
