Regional Director - Atlanta, GA, U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration
Phil Paradice serves as Regional Director of the Atlanta office of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA). He is responsible for implementation of EDA's Mission in the eight-state Atlanta Region. His office actively fosters entrepreneurship, innovation and global competitiveness through investments in infrastructure development, capacity building and business development to support private investment and higher skill, higher-wage job creation in regions experiencing economic distress.
He has led numerous Agency-wide task forces addressing policy, procedure, regulatory and legislative issues. Most recently he served as co-chair of the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding's Economic Development Working Group and was a member of its Senior Advisory Council on housing.
His work in response to sudden and severe economic dislocations, such as from natural disasters or plant closures resulting in significant job losses, has been recognized on three occasions by receipt of the U.S. Department of Commerce Silver Medal Award, the Department's second highest honor.
Phil's professional experience includes the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation where he served during the banking and real estate crisis; vice president of a not-for-profit trade association representing the financial services industry, and vice president of a Wall Street investment banking firm.
A native of Atlanta, Phil is a graduate of Georgia Tech and received his MBA from Georgia State University.
