Go back to a simpler time. Every October at the Research and Education Center at Milan, we capture a piece of yesteryear with our Fall Folklore Jamboree. More than 100 traditional folk artists, musicians and demonstrators cover the grounds of the West Tennessee Agricultural Museum for this annual event. They demonstrate now rare 19th century skills like weaving, knitting, wood carving, blacksmithing, plus more. Visitors can see horse plowing and logging, as well as a working grist mill, and ride in a horse-drawn wagon. Listen to traditional story-telling, and delight in the melodic sounds of bluegrass and gospel music. And those who get hungry can sample fresh apple cider and old fashioned kettle corn made right on the grounds.
