‪Dr. Jonathan Bostick bequeathed the funds for Bostick Female Academy, built to replace the famed Porter Female Academy burned by Union soldiers during the Civil War in 1863. Built in 1892, it enrolled 75 girls at a time, and closed as public education became a reality in the 1900s. It served as a Triune public school from 1904-49, and is now a private home.
