The Cherohala Skyway crosses through the Cherokee National Forest and offers a glimpse into the unspoiled forest environment where Cherokee tribes and early pioneers traveled and settled in the Appalachian Mountains. Enjoy mile-high vistas and brilliant season foliage as well as great hiking opportunities and picnic spots in these magnificent and seldom seen portions of the southern Appalachian National Forest.

The skyway climbs from 800 to 5,300 feet in elevation through the Cherokee and Nantahala Forests. Picnic, hike, camp and view spectacular scenery.
