This downtown area is filled with gift and antique shops, restaurants and many interesting and historical sites. The centerpiece is the courthouse built in 1905 at a cost of $23,000. It is listed on the National Historic Register and like many structures in the area, was built with the distinctive and rare Crab Orchard sandstone.
