This 1924 home was the residence of George Dempster, a former mayor of Knoxville. Dempster, was a successful entrepreneur until the Great Depression, but had to auction this house in 1932. He made a strong comeback however, holding 75 patents, and is best known as the inventor of the Dempster Dumpster, which revolutionized solid waste disposal across the U.S. Tour points 22-24 are a few highlights to explore in Fountain City.
