Tiptonville is tucked between the Mississippi River and Reelfoot
Lake, Tiptonville is the seat of Lake County. It’s a community surrounded by water; because of its elevation, it was used as a relief camp during major floods in the 1920s and 1930s.

The town of Tiptonville sits on what is known as the “Tiptonville Dome,”
a small lift 9 miles wide and 7 miles long, that has spared it from the most devastating river floods.
