The scenic Duck River Blueway has something for everyone, waterwise. It features the only Class II rapid on the lower part of the river, several series of fast running shoals, numerous islands, historic features, and a great abundance of wildlife. Keep your eyes open for great blue herons, belted kingfishers, numerous warblers in summer, minks, muskrats and river otters. In the water, there are fish galore, and on the streambed are millions of mussels, including some found only in this area.
