Experience and enjoy one of the most scenic, wildest areas in Tennessee with a visit to the Foster Falls Area, South Cumberland State Park. Operated by Tennessee State Parks and located near Tracy City, Tennessee, this recreation area provides a safe, and beautiful base for exploring the south end of the Cumberland Plateau. Foster Falls is a spectacular 60-foot waterfall plunging into a deep pool. Mountain laurel, azaleas, and hemlocks growing above the falls, along the sandstone overlook, and in the gorge below add to the beauty of this area. An easy hike will take you to the top of the falls. From there a trail will take you down into the gorge, over the creek on a suspension bridge to the base of the falls for a delightful view and experience. Situated near Foster Falls, the Campground has 26 campsites, including a wheelchair-accessible site; amenities include a bathhouse with heated showers and flush toilets, a picnic table and campfire ring at every site.  Also, a group pavilion is located near the park entrance main trailhead with amenities including five tables that will seat 50 people, one large charcoal grill and two small grills, water furnished, handicapped-accessibility, paved parking lot, restrooms nearby.  All camping and/or pavilionare open year-round and available by reservation by visiting https://tnstateparks.itinio.com/south-cumberland or calling South Cumberland State Park Visitor Center at 931-924-2980.
