Situated in the heart of Greeneville's beautiful downtown historic district, the General Morgan Inn features newly renovated guest rooms, upscale amenities for both business and leisure travelers, and on-site dining at Brumley's, the inn's premiere upscale restaurant. Also, two walking tours leave daily from the inn's grand lobby, and the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site and Museum are within easy walking distance. Member of the National Trust Historic Hotels of America.

Built in 1884 as a railroad hotel, it is named after Confederate
General John Hunt Morgan, whose raids terrorized the Union Army
during the Civil War. Legend has it that Morgan, the
“Thunderbolt of the Confederacy,” tried to escape and was shot and killed near the inn. Today, this Conference Center is the crown jewel of the historic district, featuring renovated guest rooms and
serving as an area information point. 

Directions: FROM THE WEST (Through Knoxville)
Take I-40 (East) out of city
Continue on I-40 approximately 40 miles to I-81 North
Stay on I-81 North to Exit 23
Turn RIGHT onto US 11 East (Andrew Johnson Hwy)
Drive approximately 12 Miles to the Greeneville Business Exit
Merge onto Summer Street traveling through 3 stop lights
At 4th stoplight (stoplight locally labeled #5) turn LEFT onto Main Street
Turn LEFT at Church Street (stoplight locally labeled #3)
Turn LEFT into General Morgan Inn Parking Lot

FROM THE EAST (Bristol-Kingsport)
Take I-81 South to Exit 36 (Baileyton)
Turn LEFT onto Baileyton Hwy
