(Private Residence) Joel F. and Florina Hamlett built this Greek-style home in 1867 from material found on their cotton plantation. Martha Eliza Smith, owner from 1908 until her death in 1990, was a friend of President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his wife Eleanor, who were once guests in the home.
