Hiwassee River Rail Adventure

Etowah, TN

Ride a vintage, climate-controlled train along the Hiwassee River and Gorge and then around the historic Hiwassee Loop. Two trips are available: The Loop trip is 3 1/2 hours and the Copperhill is an all day trip with a two hour stopover in the historic copper mining town of Copperhill. All trips begin with a short shuttle bus ride from the restored train depot located in Etowah. See tvrail.com for trip information and schedules. 

Directions: From I-75 south to Athens Exit 49, turn left (east) off exit onto US Hwy 30. Travel 11 miles on US Hwy 30E toward Etowah/US Hwy 411. Turn right (south) on US Hwy 411. Travel 1 mile on US HWY 411. The depot is on the left.
