Hidden in the foothills of the East Tennessee mountains, in a valley looking up at the majestic Cold Springs Mountain is the Horse Creek Gospel Music Barn. Fast becoming known as the "Best Kept Secret for Gospel Music in Tennessee," the barn is a place of refreshment and excitement. It's the only facility in the Tennessee mountains dedicated solely to Southern and bluegrass gospel music. There's live gospel music every Saturday night at 7 p.m. and a cafe for food and drink. From Knoxville. I-40 east to I-81. Take Greeneville Exit (23). Go Right on 11-E to Greeneville. Do not take Business Exit. At the 9th traffic light (past Wal-Mart), turn right onto Erwin Hwy. 107. Travel approximately 4.5 miles. After Shanks & Shanks country store on the right, take next right onto Horse Creek Park Road. You will see a huge green sign for HORSE CREEK COMMUNITY; turn here! You will go around a sharp curve. STAY LEFT, directly onto Broyles Rd. as you go up the hill. Over the hill you will see the Gospel Barn at the foot of the hill on your left. (If you go right around that 1st sharp curve, it will take you to the Park. Turn around and come back to Broyles Rd., then turn right and go over the hill.) From Kingsport/Johnson City: Go to Hwy 11-E (runs through J.C. and Jonesborough). Go approximately 25 miles. Turn LEFT at 1st traffic light past Greene Valley Developmental Center, onto Hwy. 107 (Erwin Hwy.). Go appx 6.5 miles (East on 107). Turn right onto Horse Creek Park Rd. (just past Shanks and Shanks Grocery). Stay left past the sharp curve, go over the hill on Broyles Rd. Barn is on your left at the foot of the hill.
