John Muir Trail

Reliance, TN

An easy 20-mile hike beginning at Childers Creek in Reliance and ending near TN/NC line. It follows the Hiwassee River. First three miles very easy. 

Directions: Take Hwy. 411 north from U.S. 64 junction 11.4 mi. to Hwy. 30. Turn right on 30, travel 6 mi. to Hwy. 315, turn left on 315, cross the river and take the first right on Childer Creek Rd. Childers Creek parking area will be on the right 1 mi. Trail head is at the end of the lot.
