Rich with mountains, rivers and streams, Marion County is a great place to live, work, and visit. Located just off interstate 24, Marion County has the look and feel of a small town while being within easy driving distance of Chattanooga, Nashville, Atlanta, Knoxville, and Huntsville, AL. Marion County is home to the National Cornbread Festival held annually the last full weekend in April and is a must stop for hiking, cycling, rock climbing, fishing and boating. Visit Nickajack Lake, Foster Falls, and Denny Cove while you are here. If you love motorcycle trail riding, be sure to stop by the Trials Training Center.  For a lesson in history, visit the Children's Holocaust Museum, the Coal Miner's Museum, Jasper Regional History Museum, South Pittsburg Historical Museum, and the Sam H. Werner Museum. If you are a civil war history buff, you will want to take in dinner and a show at the Buttonwillow Civil War Dinner Theater. While being steeped in history, Marion County is also home to growing manufacturers such as Lodge Manufacturing.
