Peyton Manning is an American football quarterback, son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, brother to quarterback Eli Manning and Cooper Manning. Peyton played football at the University of Tennessee, leading the Volunteers to the 1997 SEC Championship in his senior season. He was chosen by the Indianapolis Colts in the first overall pick in the 1998 NFL draft. From 1998 to 2010, he led the Colts to eight division championships, two AFC championships, and to a Super Bowl (XLI) championship. Peyton has won four league valuable players awards, a record, and was the most valuable player of Super Bowl XLI. Named to 11 Pro Bowls, with 11 4,000-yard passing seasons, Peyton was named the best player in the NFL in 2009. Sports Illustrated and Fox Sports named him the NFL player of the decade of the 2000s. Peyton is well-known for his pre-snap routine, and he's used an array of gestures and commands to call the play at the line of scrimmage rather than in the huddle. Peyton was the University of Tennessee's all-time leading passer with 11,201 yards, 89 touchdowns and he won 39 of 45 games as a starter, breaking the Southeastern Conference (SEC) record for career wins. In 2005, Tennessee retired Peyton's number (16), and a street leading to Neyland Stadium bears the name Peyton Manning Pass.
