Welcome aboard the Tennessee Aquarium River Gorge Explorer! This 70 passenger high-speed catamaran is the first of its kind in the Southeast. Aquarium visitors can extend their "mountains to the sea" learning adventure by cruising into the Tennessee River Gorge aboard this sleek vessel. An Aquarium naturalist will lead you into this protected habitat, pointing out wildlife and historic points of interest along the way.
Each 2 hour cruise will begin as passengers board the River Gorge Explorer at the Chattanooga Pier next to the Tennessee Aquarium. Four water jets will propel this catamaran-style watercraft smoothly and swiftly downstream. Angled seating will allow each guest to relax in the climate-controlled cabin and enjoy the scenic beauty and wildlife through oversized windows and overhead sky panes.

Directions: I-24 to Downtown Chattanooga-27 N. Take Exit 1C, right on 4th St., left on Chestnut St. Go 2 blocks to Chattanooga Pier - across from the Tennessee Aquarium.
Locating the River Gorge Explorer is easy.
1) From either the Tennessee Aquarium or IMAX 3D Theater, simply walk toward the Tennessee River on Chestnut Street.
2) Turn left on Riverfront Parkway and continue to the Chattanooga Pier, located at the corner of Riverfront Parkway and Power Alley. *If you need additional tickets, you may purchase them on the Chattanooga Pier at the ticketing kiosk.
3) Proceed under the arch displaying the nautical flags and continue down the ramp to board the River Gorge Explorer.
