Rose Center is housed in a National Register of Historic Places building. Built in 1892 as the first public school in Morristown, Rose School was active until 1975.
The multi-use facility maintains 4 exhibit galleries, art, history, children's activities. Many special events are held throughout the year.
The Mountain Makins Festival, chosen as a Top Twenty Event by the SE Tourism Society, is held at Rose Center every 4th weekend in October. It is the largest Appalachian cultural event in NE Tennessee.

Driving Directions
From Knoxville & West: Take I-40 east. Take Asheville Highway exit, #394 US 11E. Follow 11E east through Jefferson City. When you get to major intersection in Morristown (Long John Silver's on Right & CVS drug store on Left) continue straight. Go to third light (County Courthouse is on Left) and turn Left. Rose Center is at top of hill.
Using Interstate: Take I-40 east. Take I-81 north. Take the Morristown/White Pine exit #8 to Highway 25E. Turn Right off exit (north), travel 6.5 miles and turn Right onto Exit 2A, then Left onto Morris Boulevard. Travel 2.5 miles and turn Right onto Jackson Street. Go three blocks and turn Right onto W. Second North Street. Rose Center is on the corner on your Left.
From TN-Cities and North: Take I-81 south. Take the Morristown/White Pine exit #8 to Highway 25E. Turn Right off exit (north), travel 6.5 miles and turn Right onto Exit 2A, then Left onto Morris Boulevard. Travel 2.5 miles and turn Right onto Jackson Street. Go three blocks and turn Right onto W. Second North Street. Rose Center is on the corner on your Left.
Parking: There is parking on the street, in a small lot across from Rose Center, around the Hamblen County Court House (after hours), and in a lot just to the west of Rose Center (across Jackson Street.).
