Sam Houston Schoolhouse

Named for the statesman and pioneer, Sam Houston, it is the oldest schoolhouse in the state of Tennessee. Built in 1794. Museum, native wild flower garden, gift shop. 

Directions: Take hwy 33 to Popes Garden Center follow signs 2.5 mi. >>> Take hwy 411 to Peppermint Rd follow signs. >>> Take Interstate I-140 to its end, turn left onto hwy 33 to Popes Garden Center; follow signs 2.5 mi.
